Jeju: Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road (신창 풍차해안)

This is a windmill farm that sits on the coast of Sinchang in Jeju. I got to know about this place because the lighthouse here was featured in drama Warm and Cozy. The entire place came out really nice on the drama and I thought I should really check out this place. And also because I am a fan of windmills.

I guess I could safely say the whole Jeju trip was a little like checking out the filming sites for drama Warm and Cozy (Jeju Gatsby). That morning I woke up and felt really sad because I could hear the raindrops pitter pattering on windows. Out of all my days in Jeju, only the day when I’m supposed to leave, the sun came out. T^T what luck.

But it being a coastal road, it is beautiful! Despite the weather being really bad… But I guess it kind of adds mystery to the place?

Jeju buses


Whenever foreigners try to explore Jeju, self-drive always come to their mind. Not saying that self-drive is a bad thing, but for people like me who can’t drive for nuts, self-drive is impossible! So like what I always do, I rely on the simple things like public transport or taxi guides to help me get around.

Guides are expensive, especially if I am travelling alone. So this trip, I set my mind to explore the bus system in Jeju, and I clearly am very satisfied with it!

Gyeongju: Yangdong Village

Yangdong Village is the oldest and largest traditional clan village in Korea. The 2 more prominent clans are the Son and Yi clan, of which Seobaekodang, the house of Son, has been around for the longest time. It also showcases the traditional culture of the Joseon Dynasty and the beautiful natural surroundings. & thanks to its many cultural heritages, including treasures, national treasures, and folklore materials, the entire village has been designated as a cultural heritage site, as well as a UNESCO Heritage site in 2010 together with Hahoe Village in Andong.
